Frederick Basso Jr. was appointed to NEST’s Board of Directors in 2013, bringing over 50 years of business experience in the solid waste and recycling industry. Throughout the course of five decades, Fred’s modest owner/operator business has grown into a multi-million dollar corporation. The corporation currently provides recycling and waste collection services throughout ten New Jersey municipalities. Fred’s company has not only acquired multiple municipal contracts, but it has serviced hundreds of commercial and industrial accounts throughout the years.
Fred is currently semi-retired, but continues to oversee operations as a consultant while his son manages the family business. He brings many years of business experience and countless hours of problem solving to the board of NEST. Fred’s large-scale success achieved through years of expanding his own corporation brings a high-level of strategic planning that can be applied to client solutions. He is proud to be able share his knowledge and experience with NEST on a regular basis.
Fred and his wife, Rebecca, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Together they have a daughter and a son and are proud grandparents of six grandchildren. Fred enjoys playing golf, watching INDYCAR and NASCAR races, and traveling with his wife.
